“The Most Infamous Skip Bayless Takes: A Recap of His Worst Predictions and Hot Takes”

Skip Bayless, the well-known sports commentator, has made a name for himself in the industry with his controversial takes on various topics. However, some of his opinions have been so outrageous that they’ve been met with ridicule and criticism from the public. Let’s all be honest, seeing Skip Bayless hopelessly talk down on the greatest to ever play is some of the more entertaining content we get to see nowadays. So in this blog, I will be highlighting the worst takes of Skip’s career.

Saying that LeBron James was not clutch:

One of Bayless’s most infamous takes was his assertion that LeBron James was not clutch. Bayless frequently criticized James for not being able to win championships or make clutch plays in crucial moments. This is just a sorry take. A couple of weeks ago I wrote a whole blog about LeBron’s legacy and to shame his game for being “unclutch” just seems cheap.

Calling Dak Prescott a better quarterback than Russell Wilson:

In 2019, Bayless stated that he believed that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was better than Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Prescott had a good season, but Wilson was widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, having led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory and multiple playoff appearances. Bayless’s opinion was widely ridiculed, and many argued that he was simply trying to generate controversy.

Arguing that Tim Tebow was a better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers:

In 2011, Bayless stated that Tim Tebow was a better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers… And I get the recency bias here given the fact that this was fresh off of Tebow taking the Broncos to the playoffs, but come on! Rogers is EXPECTED to make the playoffs and that is simply because he is just better. Bayless’s opinion was met with ridicule from many in the industry, and it has only added to the number of eyes watching for his next ridiculous take.

“Fate of the world on the line… I want Iguodala!”:

None of them get better than this. At the time, Skip claimed that “Iggy” should be the one taking the final shots on a team with Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson. Believe it or not, this may not even be his “worst” take. But it was the memes and constant shaming online that put this one ahead of all the other terrible takes this man has come up with.

While Skip Bayless continues to stir the pot and generate controversy with his opinions, many argue that his credibility has been called into question. We fans can only take so many outlandish and nonsensical takes. Personally, I think that it is this type of controversy that keeps him on the big screen.
